California EAMS: Integration Is Key for Software Vendors, Attorneys

The CA Division of Workers' Compensation has unveiled its new EAMS website. The site contains FAQs about many aspects of the system, but no information yet on how software vendors can integrate their systems with EAMS. It is clear that attorneys and others need a case management system, for example, that can integrate with EAMS applications.

Discussions are underway at the Division of Workers' Compensation about the integration of EAMS with other software programs.

Most likely Deloitte and the DWC will release information about how  to push data into EAMS -- that is, how to do e-filing without manually keying each e-form.

The software companies will have to bear their own costs in having their developers (internally) set up their software to send information to EAMS in the format that EAMS expects to receive it. Essentially, the software company  developers will have to figure out  how to make their programs "talk" to EAMS.

Stay tuned for more information.
