What is Time Matters Browser?
Time Matters Browser is a Web-browser-based edition of the desktop-based Lexis Front Office powered by Time Matters practice management software.

Is it similar to the desktop version of Lexis Front Office powered by Time Matters?
Yes. While the majority of the code base has been ported to Java, most of the key functionality found within the desktop edition is also available in Time Matters Browser, including management of contacts, matters, calendar, tasks, phone calls, LexisNexis® research, etc.

Who hosts Time Matters Browser?
Time Matters Browser is an application that your organization hosts within your office.

Can I host Time Matters Browser in a collocation facility?
At this time, Time Matters Browser is not licensed to use via third-party hosting services or to be hosted in a collocation facility, even if your office owns the server hardware.

What are the minimum and recommended bandwidth requirements to run Time Matters Browser?
128 kbps is the minimum upload speed for Time Matters Browser; 256 kbps is recommended.

How do I administer the Time Matters Browser product?
Administration is done through a desktop-based interface run on the server that is running the Time Matters Browser installation, or any workstation connected via a local LAN.

Can I control user access to Time Matters Browser?
Access is controlled through the use of technical protocols, your local network security configuration, and application level security, user management and audit report tools.

Can Time Matters Browser be implemented on its own?
Time Matters Browser may be ordered and implemented as a completely standalone application or may be implemented to sync with a local installation of Lexis Front Office powered by Time Matters or Lexis® Back Office powered by Billing Matters®, Enterprise Edition, to extend the overall capabilities of the solution.
 
After installation, what type of maintenance does Time Matters Browser require?
Routine maintenance of Time Matters Browser includes running data backups, performing general database administration, and monitoring and implementing service release updates.

Is my data safe?
Yes. Time Matters Browser clients communicate with Time Matters Browser via the Internet or company intranet. All communication packets are encrypted using the RSA Security implementation of Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), which is certified to the FIPS 140-2 government standard. Time Matters Browser uses a 256-bit key that is unique for each client login. Time Matters Browser also offers optional tunneling, restricting all traffic through a single http or https port.

What is required on a client machine?
All that is required is a Web browser, an Internet connection and a Java plug-in, which is automatically installed on the first connection to Time Matters Browser.  For more details please review the System Requirements page.

Does Time Matters Browser have links to other products as Lexis Front Office powered by Time Matters does?
Time Matters Browser currently links with only the Microsoft® Office family, including Outlook.
 
Can I sync Time Matters Browser with PDAs?
While product engineers have explored wireless syncing to BlackBerry® devices utilizing the Blackberry Enterprise Server, at present there are no tested sync options for Time Matters Browser, other than an installation paired with a locally installed version of Lexis Front Office powered by Time Matters, Enterprise Edition.
