Add Current Customer News to Your Internal Sites! LexisNexis® Dossier Publishing Manager Updates Automatically

You’ve probably been part of the process, creating portals or intranets for sharing information across the organization. You’ve may have even worked on key customer pages, creating one-stop repositories of key customer information such as recent news coverage, stock prices, even industry market condition.

Ready for more? Take the next step in making your customer pages true stories on what’s happening now with the companies, executives and industries of interest.

Now you can include LexisNexis Dossier reports—or only the parts you need—at your own site via a Microsoft® Office SharePoint site or a page on your company’s intranet.

LexisNexis Dossier Publishing Manager is a new solution that allows LexisNexis Dossier administrators to generate custom HTML links to the specific LexisNexis Dossier report content you want to display. These links can be pasted into portals as Web parts, intranets, wikis, client- or practice-based team sites, widgets and more.

Think of what you can do for your customer pages/collaboration sites! For example:

  • Link to a specific company’s snapshot—or just the parts of the snapshot you want to include.
  • Add a company’s stock chart to your portal page.
  • Display a link to a company’s financials—formatted in Microsoft Excel® for easy downloading.
  • Link to a specific industry report.
  • Create your own Web parts, gadgets, wikis, portals, intranet company pages—anywhere you can paste a company link!

Begin by researching a company, executive or industry with LexisNexis Dossier. (The Company Dossier search box is in Research Tools on the main nexis.com screen.)

After you review your results, click the Include a report on your site link in the left navigation bar of your report. The Dossier Publishing Manager set-up screen walks you through the simple process of selecting a Dossier report and which components, e.g., Snapshot, In the News, etc., you’d like to include. (You can choose more than one component with the CTRL key.)

As you choose components, LexisNexis Dossier Publishing Managers create a customized link on the fly. That URL acts as a direct link to the data you chose. Just copy the link to your own site—embed it in a SharePoint site or as an HTML page element, for example. The report content you choose will appear on your site, but the data will still be hosted by LexisNexis—and it will refresh every time a user loads your page. Simple and elegant!

All of your authorized LexisNexis Dossier users can gain access to the components. Your customers with LexisNexis Dossier subscriptions can view as well. But only registered LexisNexis Dossier users will be able to view the components.* Up to three information professionals may be given access to the administrator tool, so you all can create and publish links that any authorized Dossier users can view.

Ask your LexisNexis account executive for more details on how you can include Dossier Publishing Manager on your LexisNexis Dossier subscription.

*How does this work? When a user opens a page on your site that contains a LexisNexis Dossier report, LexisNexis Dossier checks the user’s computer to verify LexisNexis log on. If no verification is found, a sign-in request appears, and the report is displayed after the user enters a valid LexisNexis Dossier ID and password.

Note: The Dossier Publishing Manager feature may not be available to all subscribers.
