Did the News Break on a Blog? The 2,600+ Blogs at nexis.com® Can Show You (02/09)

At nexis.com, you can search magazines, newspapers, journals and broadcast transcripts together—in just a few keystrokes. And with the advent of the World Wide Web in the last decade, you can add blogs to your search.

Blogs are also often the first to break major news stories and provide an important barometer of public perception. Skeptical? Just look to the 2008 election coverage. Bloggers were an integral part of the news cycle during the campaigns.

Since June 2006, LexisNexis has partnered with Newstex® to bring you an unparallel collection of blogs. Now you can search more than 2,600 blogs via nexis.com or lexis.com. You can even deliver blog content through LexisNexis® Publisher.

Unlike some aggregation services, Newstex Blogs on Demand® licenses influential blogs directly from independent bloggers, often subject-matter experts. And Newstex delivers value-added blog content. That means Newstex processes full-text blog posts in real time through its NewsRouter technology and automatically tags each post with key data, such as company names, stock tickers and detailed topical categories. Each post also includes the Newstex proprietary PeopleTickering™, which synthesizes metadata from numerous premium sources and quality blogs to create a database of people who make the news.

Here are some vital things to remember about Newstex blogs at nexis.com:

Integrated
While you can search blogs via general search engines or a blog search engine, only LexisNexis integrates blog content with mainstream news content so you can review a topic regardless of content medium.

Updated Frequently
Newstex blogs available at nexis.com are updated throughout the day.

Searchable Archive
Blogs added to nexis.com will stay in archive.
