How do I find company press releases in SEC Form 8-K? (10/09)

Use the SEC Filings search form under the Search and Company tabs to find press releases for publicly traded companies in SEC form 8-Ks. For example, take the following steps to find press releases for Procter & Gamble:

  • Select the Search tab and then select Company under this tab.
  • Click the SEC Filings link on the right side of the screen.
  • Enter procter gamble in the Company Name field.
  • Click the radio button in front of Terms and Connectors.
  • Enter allcaps (news release or press release or for immediate release) in the Additional Terms field.
Note: Use the allcaps command to require that your terms appear in all capital letters. The terms News Release or Press Release generally appear in all capital letters in these documents. Use the OR connector to separate alternate search terms.
  • Select SEC Form 8-K from the Sources drop-down list.
Note: Not all sources are available under all LexisNexis® subscriptions. Please contact your LexisNexis account representative if you have questions about your subscription.
  • Select an option from the Specify Date drop-down list if you want to narrow your search to documents from a specific date range.
  • Click the Search button.
