Keeping Current

New California Offering from CourtLink® (October 2009)

Daily Newly Filed Complaints Report from CourtLink Document Retrieval Service.

Currently in California Northern U.S. District Court, it takes from 1 to 3 days after filing for most dockets to appear on CourtLink. The Document Retrieval Service has a Court Researcher in the San Francisco Cal-Northern District Court each day collecting and loading copies of newly filed complaints. To make these documents more quickly available, we are now e-mailing clients a daily, no-cost list of the cases filed and then upon request, providing the documents at a price point of $40 each.
Once added to the distribution, recipients receive a 5:00 P.M. e-mail (PT) listing all compelling cases. As the service closes at 5:30 PT each day, clients have a 30-minute window to request documents should they want same-day delivery. The Document Retrieval team will fulfill requests received after 5:30 the following morning (goal: before 7:00 A.M. PT).

Rather than waiting for the court to scan documents and upload to PACER, clients receive notification of the day’s filed cases and then upon request, receive documents filed that same day.
