atVantage™ Release 3.1 (August 2009)
Highlights:
Case List by Category: Users can now see case lists broken out by case type, jurisdiction, law firm, lawyer, etc. This will eliminate the need for multiple drilldowns and reports when a user just wants to see cases a particular law firm handled or cases that a particular lawyer handled. This new left-hand menu item is in addition to the original case list and not in replace of. The grouped case list can also be included in the report. By default, the grouped case list will show the top 10 (case types, lawyers, etc.) and then the first 10 cases (however, the user can page to see additional cases). Just like the original case list, expanding the number of results shown and drilldowns will be reflected in the case list by category.
Report Generation Enhancements: Users now have the ability to select the information to be included in a report directly from the profile (rather than the report generator). Users will now see a new icon next to each section and also individual items such as news articles. Clicking on the icon will allow the user to include or exclude something in the report. All selections will be reflected in the report wizard. This new feature will allow users to easily build a report as they are viewing information in the profile.
Profile Enhancements: Several new sections have been added, including:
- Law Firm Size (Company & Industry Profiles) - the breakdown by size of law firms that have represented a particular company or industry in litigation. See what the average firm size is for a particular company’s litigation matters and determine whether your firm has an opportunity to win the business. (Note: Available for Federal District Litigation trends only)
- Law Firm State (Company & Industry Profiles) - the breakdown by state where law firms are located that have represented a particular company or industry in litigation. See what the top law firm locations are for a company or industry.
(Note: Available for Federal District Litigation trends only)
- Firm Branches (Firm Profile) see the breakdown of the firm branches/locations. This breakdown is unique to atVantage and provides the ability to see branch office litigation trends and contribution to firm overall for more precise competitive intelligence.
(Note: Available for Federal District Litigation trends only)
Firm members have been moved out of the firm overview section and into a new left-hand section called “Firm Members.”
My List Enhancements:
- Ability to share a My List - Users can now share My Lists they have created with other atVantage users at their firm. Now My Lists can be shared with just specific users. For example, a user may want to share a list of Top Prospects with a particular practice group or a list of top lateral hires with a particular attorney.
- Ability to create a My List from a file - Users can upload an .xls file and create a My List. This is an easy way to create one list for several companies.
Remember…My Lists are a great way to save groups of Company, Firm or Lawyer profiles together in a list. The list allows users to run “List Actions” including running aggregate profiles or drop a list into prospecting. Some examples of My Lists are: Top Clients; Top Prospects; Top Competitors; Lateral Hire Targets; Alumni; Custom Hierarchies.
Other Enhancements:
- IP Reports: The IP reports found under the company overview of a company profile have been reformatted to make it easier to read and link to a report.
- Collapse/Expand sections: The ability to collapse/expand sections of the profiles has been around for quite some time, however, only the first section of the profile will be expanded by default now. All other sections below the first one will be collapsed by default. This will make it easier for the user to see the available sections of data without a lot of scrolling and also improve the load time of the page. If users prefer to see all sections expanded, they can click the Expand All link at the top of the page.
New Courts:
The following 10 new state courts have been added, bringing state court coverage to 47 court systems (with at least one court system) in 19 states:
- Minnesota Statewide Appellate Court
- Minnesota Statewide District Court
- Minnesota Statewide Supreme Court
- Missouri – Greene County
- Nevada – Clark County
- Virginia Statewide Circuit Court
- Pennsylvania - Bucks and Lancaster
- South Carolina - Greenville and Richland. The addition of these counties now brings statewide circuit court coverage in South Carolina.
