Carol Barra
Carol is the Senior Librarian Relations Consultant for Manhattan and Connecticut. She comes to LexisNexis with almost 30 years of experience as a librarian in both a corporate legal and law firm environment. Most recently, Carol was Head Librarian at Whitman Breed Abbott & Morgan, where she was instrumental in moving her firm toward use of electronic research services. She brings a wealth of experience in management, research, budgeting, collection development and contract negotiation.
Carol is a member of the American Association of Law Libraries, the Law Library Association of Greater New York, the Special Libraries Association, The Southern New England Law Library Association and the Law Librarians of New England.
She received both her B.A. and M.L.S. from the State University of New York at Albany.

1. What is one thing you have learned about yourself while being an LRC?
I enjoy teaching and sharing what I have learned about LexisNexis since joining the company. I was missing the teaching aspect in the position I held before joining LexisNexis.
2. If you won a trip to anywhere in the world, where would you go, and why?
Ireland because I love the country and the people.
3. If you weren’t a librarian, what would you be, and why?
A teacher. I think teaching is one of the most important professions or careers. Teaching provides the opportunity to reach out to students and instill excitement about learning.
4. What do you order at Starbucks®?
Coffee, half decaf, half regular of the boldest available brew.
5. What is your favorite meal and why?
A meal shared with family or friends. The food is not important; the company is.
