Deconstructing Opposing Counsel’s Argument (October 4, 2011)
By Bridget MacMillan

The second release of Lexis® for Microsoft® Office includes the ability to convert PDFs into Microsoft® Word documents. If you or your attorneys receive an email with a PDF from opposing counsel, you can convert the PDF right from Outlook®. Simply click on the “Convert Attachments” button in the Ribbon. Then once the Word document opens, you can click on “Pull Citations” to review all of the citations in the document or generate a list of all the citations. And this isn’t limited to opposing counsel’s arguments. You can use the tool to convert any PDF that contains scanned images to a Word document, like that recipe you found on a cooking website, or the blog post you want to use in an article you are writing. You can learn more about Lexis for Microsoft Office at http://www.lexisnexis.com/newlexis/office-C.
