Getting to Know Dianne

The biography above details Dianne’s professional qualifications and experience. Now it’s time to get to know Dianne, the person. Dianne reveals a few cozier insights about herself in the questions below.

1. If you won a trip to any where in the world, where would you go, and why?

One place that I would love to visit is the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean. My parents are from the islands (Caribbean) and I have a natural affinity for island life. These islands are very secluded and look absolutely beautiful!

2. If you had a super power, what would it be, and why?

My ultimate super power would be to zap bad drivers out of existence. The DC area has so much traffic and it seems as if all of the bad drivers live within a 5-mile radius of my house.

3. You are traveling around the world, and only have room for two books. Which two do you take and why?

Native Son by Richard Wright. This is my favorite novel of all time. Very deep and disturbing, but poignant at the same time.

The second would be National Geographic History of the World. Boring to some, but if I am traveling the world I would want to know something about the places I am visiting before I get there. I like to know the history of a place and its people.

4. If you weren’t a librarian, what would you be, and why?

A literature professor. In college, literature classes were my favorite and personally transformed my views. Those professors seemed most in touch with the world.

5. What do you order at Starbucks®?

I still have a hard time paying $3 for a cup of coffee, so most of the time I order a tall regular coffee of the day. From time to time I order a flavored latte, vanilla and ginger (during the holidays) are my favorites.
