Getting to know Donna

1. What is one thing you have learned about yourself while being an LRC?

How much I missed diving deep into the LexisNexis products. As a manager for the previous 9 years, I had a high level view of the products. I find it refreshing to once again get deep into the products and to be able to share my knowledge with librarians.

2. If you won a trip to any where in the world, where would you go, and why?

I would choose Tahiti. It would include a small boat cruise around and into the 118 islands. Although there are many other places I would like to go, I would like to win a trip to Tahiti because it is beyond my budget, a long way from home and looks fabulous in the travel brochures.

3. Tell me a song that when you hear it, you always get a smile on your face.

Billie Holiday’s “I Hear Music.” The local jazz station plays this at 6:00 am almost every weekday morning. It always makes me smile and is a great song to start the day.

4. If you weren’t a librarian, what would you be, and why?

If I had the talent, I would be in the music world as a singer, pianist or song writer. I love the way music touches the soul and can be healing and joyful. Books do the same, so since I don’t have a natural music talent I would be honored to work in adult and child literacy programs.

5. What do you order at Starbucks?

My regular order is a tall black coffee. When I am splurging, I choose a grande soy latte.
