Getting to Know Elizabeth

The biography above details Elizabeth’s professional qualifications and experience. Now it’s time to get to know Elizabeth, the person. Elizabeth reveals a few cozier insights about herself in the questions below.

1. What do you order at Starbucks®?

If I am by myself I order a regular Hot Chai but if I am with my fellow LRC Bridget MacMillan I order a Fat Chai to distinguish it from the Skinny Chai she orders.

2. What is your favorite meal and why?

Dinner, which would be a plate filled with small servings of different kinds and textures of cheeses and crackers with preserves and other salty and sweet goodies such as a few slices of gourmet meats, fruits, vegetables and nuts. For the full effect, it should be served on fine china accompanied by a good glass of wine in crystal and a light dessert.

3. If you could be a super hero, who would it be? Or have a super power, what would it be, and why?

The ability to get from place to place incredibly quickly. I’m not picky, it doesn’t have to be flying or teleport powers. I would even be willing to borrow the Wonder Woman® invisible jet (if there was adequate parking). But with this ability the world would be open to me, breakfast at Café Du Monde, beignets and good chicory coffee with a friend, for lunch, sushi in Japan, then a Broadway play that evening, and finally home in bed in Chicago. I also would never be stuck in an airport again!

4. Tell me a song that when you hear it, you always get a smile on your face.

“Twist and Shout” which reminds me of high school since I was a huge Beatle’s fan. Also, “Ferris Buehler’s Day Off” came out my senior year and it was the ultimate senior movie. It made me think Chicago was the coolest city in the world to live in. It took several years, but here I am!

5. If you won a trip to anywhere in the world, where would you go, and why?

I think it would be great to go to Antarctica and hang out with the penguins in their native habitat. It isn’t a place I would plan to go on my own but if I could choose a trip on someone else’s tab it would make a great story and would be incredibly unique.

6. What is one thing you have learned about yourself while being an LRC?

I’m an introvert who plays an extrovert during work hours.
