Getting to Know Gayle

The biography above details Gayle’s professional qualifications and experience. Now it’s time to get to know Gayle, the person. Gayle reveals a few cozier insights about herself in the questions below.

1. What is one thing you have learned about yourself while being an LRC?

I really do like change. This was a huge shock for me. I always considered myself so conservative, which I am, but from this job I have learned that I am pretty liberal at the same time. Until this job I did not realize I got bored easily and needed constant stimulation. All the change that takes place keeps me quite occupied!

2. What technology has transformed your life, you can’t imagine living without it now, and why?

Email— while there are times I dread looking at my inbox this is outweighed by the fact that I really love the capability of replying to someone at any time or sending them a message when it is convenient to me, rather than having to arrange a phone call when we are both available.

3. If you could be a super hero, who would it be?

The Bionic Woman—I would love to have those powers and be indestructible. She is also really good looking and has a fantastic shape. Growing up in LA, looks and figure were pretty big. I did not have much of either!

4. Tell me a song that when you hear it, you always get a smile on your face.

“Just the Way You Are” by Billy Joel. It was the song my husband and I picked for our wedding. We accept each other no matter what! It makes me feel really loved.

5. If you weren’t a librarian, what would you be, and why?

An assistant GM with the New York Yankees. I am super organized and love athletics, especially baseball and I relate really well to guys!

6. What is your favorite meal and why?

I love noodles, with a little butter, parmesan cheese and a touch of seasoning. It is my comfort food. When I did not feel well as a child that is what my Mom would make and to this day it is what I make myself when I am under the weather.
