Julie Webster-Matthews
Julie is the Librarian Relations Consultant for Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina and Tennessee. Julie joined the LexisNexis Librarian Relations Group in 2001.
Julie rejoined LexisNexis from Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth, where she was responsible for managing all aspects of library operations and providing extensive research and reference assistance for 100 attorneys and other legal staff. Before that, she was an Account Representative for LexisNexis in the Los Angeles area.
Julie is a member of the American Association of Law Libraries, Special Libraries Association, and several regional law library associations. She co-chairs the SCALL Inner City Youth Intern Program Committee.
She received her B.A. from Indiana University and continues to pursue her M.L.I.S. degree from the University of North Texas.

1. What is one thing you have learned about yourself while being an LRC?
I really enjoy talking to people!
2. What technology has transformed your life, you can’t imagine living without it now, and why?
My iPod® because I love music of all kinds. Even when I’m a bad mood, it makes me feel better. Being able to take along my favorite tunes wherever I go (in such a compact way) is just fabulous to me! I didn’t know how much I would love that little device until I started using it. I take it everywhere.
3. If you won a trip to any where in the world, where would you go, and why?
Madagascar because I’ve dreamed of going there since I was a little girl.
4. If you could be a Super Hero, who would it be? Or have a super power, what would it be, and why?
My super power would be to strip away greed and selfishness in people; and replace it with empathy and compassion.
5. You are traveling around the world, and only have room for two books. Which two do you take and why?
My Bible because there is a passage in it that would help me through any situation or person I may encounter along my journey, good or bad.
Traveling Mercies by Anne Lamont because it’s funny, spiritual, and full of wisdom.
6. Tell me a song that when you hear it, you always get a smile on your face.
“Sailing” by Christopher Cross.
7. If you weren’t a librarian, what would you be, and why?
A full time grandmother because it would make me so very happy!
8. What is your favorite meal and why?
Pork Ribs because they are darn good!
