Help! I Don’t Even Understand the Question! (October 7, 2009)

We have all been there: Your firm gains a new practice group or the faculty gains a faculty member with an expertise new to your program. Associates and students soon begin to come to the library with questions they can hardly articulate. How can you help them (and yourself!) get up to speed quickly?
- Look for a Glossary. A number of our Matthew Bender® treatises, Chisum on Patents, Corporate Governance: Law & Practice just to name two, include a glossary of terms. A quick table of contents search for the term ‘glossary’ will retrieve them. Print a copy to keep as a ready reference!
- Find a Commentary. LexisNexis provides Emerging Issues Commentary in nearly every area of law. Choose the appropriate Area of Law by Topic page and click on the Emerging Issues link to browse the available commentary written by leading experts in the field.
- Search Martindale-Hubbell® Legal Articles. Martindale-Hubbell offers a collection of articles provided by leading experts in a variety of fields. Access the Reference section on the Legal tab to see the complete list of legal areas covered by these helpful articles.
