Stephanie Godley Murphy

Stephanie is the Librarian Relations Consultant for Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Pittsburgh (PA), Rhode Island, Vermont, upstate New York and West Virginia.

Stephanie began her law librarianship career at the Trial Court Library in the Middlesex County Courthouse in Cambridge, Massachusetts. From there, she started out her law firm career as a Reference Assistant at Nixon Peabody, moving into the position of Reference Librarian upon completion of her Masters Degree at Simmons College.

In her time at Nixon Peabody, Stephanie was actively involved in designing and running the new associate and attorney training programs for Library services. She has witnessed firm mergers first hand and helped with library moves.

Stephanie has been practicing librarianship her whole life; carding and pocketing her childhood books and keeping everything in alphabetical order! Prior to her law librarianship career, Stephanie worked as a children’s librarian in a public library and for the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences at Tufts University. Stephanie graduated from Wesleyan University with a BA in American Studies and received her MLIS from Simmons. She is a Massachusetts native.

Stephanie is a member of American Association of Law Libraries, Association of Boston Law Librarians, Law Librarians of New England, Association of Law Libraries of Upstate New York, Association of New Hampshire Law Librarians and the Special Libraries Association.
