Guided Search Forms (June 18, 2008)
Have you ever needed to know how the news outside of the U.S. is reporting an issue? Leanne Battle, Senior Librarian Relations Consultant recommends using the News Guided Search Form. It is a great shortcut to finding that information.
Select the Guided Search Form button under the Search tab. Next select the News form. In the source box, choose All Non-US News from the drop down list. Then enter a search, such as ‘subprime mortgage,' in the Terms box. This form also allows you to limit the search to Find Major Stories Only. Checking this box instructs lexis.com® to run your search terms in the HLEAD segment as well as in the TERMS segment used for LexisNexis SmartIndexing Technology™, and to add a relevancy score. Stories of greater depth and precision are returned. Using the Guided Search Form allows you to run a sophisticated search without taking time to construct it yourself!
