How to Best Access Elsevier Titles (April 15, 2009)

Elsevier is a world-leading publisher of nearly 25 percent of the world's scientific, technical and medical full-text journals, and now lexis.com® has over 1,400+ of these journals available at your fingertips! And we’ve made it even easier to quickly locate the articles you need, as well as locate coverage information!

There are four different ways to access Elsevier titles: You can search all Elsevier Titles (perfect for when your attorneys have only an author’s name or topic but little else). You can also search by topical source groups (neuroscience, engineering, chemistry, etc.). You can search specific titles (perfect for when your attorneys know where the article appeared, but don’t have specific citations.) Lastly, you can easily pull up the articles by using “Get a Document.”

Don’t know the citation format for the Journal of Molecular Biology? No worries. You can easily obtain that information by using the Citation Format Assistant (CFA). On the Get a Document tab, using the “by Citation” subtab, click on the Citation Format link next to the search box and enter key terms. (In this instance, you can just enter “molecular biology.”)

Scroll down to Journal of Molecular Biology and click on the citation format link (i.e., ESJMOB). This opens a template where you only need to enter the volume number and beginning and ending page numbers. AND NOW we give you coverage information as well, right there in the citation example box, so you know our coverage is from 1996.

It’s never been easier to obtain the medical and scientific journals your attorneys need!
