Increase Your Web-Searching Efficiency with the LexisNexis® Toolbar (February 11, 2009)
With all the tools and shortcuts available that make working with technology easier, how do you decide when to add a new one to your routine? You may need to be convinced that it will increase your efficiency, and not merely be the passing fad of the moment, before you adopt something new. Bridget MacMillan, Senior Librarian Relations Consultant, recommends the LexisNexis® Toolbar. Once you download the Toolbar, you can access it from any Web page. Not only will it link you directly to LexisNexis® sources, but it also saves up to 20 recently used Web sites, such as Google™ or Wikipedia, for quick searching. One of Bridget’s favorite ease-of-use features is when highlighting a word or phrase on a Web site, that word or phrase is automatically copied into the LexisNexis Toolbar search box. For example, if you are reading an article on the Chicago Tribune Web site about controversial government officials, you can quickly find a case mentioned in the article using the LexisNexis Toolbar.
The LexisNexis toolbar is readily available and can be downloaded here.
