Printing for free! (May 13, 2009)

You can avoid a print charge by using the print command from your browser at any time when you are viewing results. And if you want to maximize the screen and remove the frames and toolbars, lexis.com offers a text-only view that you can activate before printing. Select the icon that looks like a tabbed piece of paper from the group of delivery icons. It is the farthest icon to the right. (If you hover over the icon, the words ”View in a printer-friendly format” appear.) Your results will now appear without the Lexis frame or toolbars, in effect a cleaner view. Use the Print command from your browser, and print the screen of results for free.

You can also execute additional commands using the browser functions:

  • To save (download) the text-only page, use your browser's Save or Save As function.
  • To copy the text-only page, use your browser's Select All function (normally under the Edit menu), select Copy, and then paste the text where you choose.
  • To exit the View in a printer-friendly format feature and return to your previous screen, click your browser's Back button.

Save paper and save money by using this feature.
