SmartLinx® Business Summary Report (June 11, 2008)

Have you ever been asked to find the names of the creditors for a business? Bridget MacMillan, Senior Librarian Relations Consultant, was asked this at a recent training session.

Bridget recommends the SmartLinx® Business Summary Report. The path to this source is: Public Records > SmartLinx(R) Searches (Consolidated report from multiple sources) > SmartLinx® - Business Summary Reports.

The SmartLinx template is quick and concise. You enter a company name in the search box and then add additional criteria, such as: address, state, or zip code. For example, searching for the company “papa gino’s” within the state of Massachusetts generates 200 results. Select the first citation to create a SmartLinx report. Within the report is a section titled Judgments/Liens, and listed in that section are creditors.

The next time you are asked to find the creditors for a business, remember that you can use the SmartLinx Business Summary Report to retrieve the information with ease.
