Want to easily find the House and Senate Reports that were issued for a Bill that became a Public Law? (June 10, 2009)

CIS® Legislative Histories through lexis.com® is the best and fastest way to pull together a list of government documents that were produced as a Bill worked its way through the legislative process to become a Public Law. This list is invaluable since it sometimes includes documents that may have preceded the Bill that ultimately became law. These documents can provide a wealth of information about what was intended with the introduction and passage of the legislation.

CIS Legislative Histories now include links to House and Senate Reports available in full text through lexis.com! Links to most of the House and Senate Reports released since the 103rd Congress, 1st Session, are now available from the CIS Legislative History list. You will also occasionally find links to earlier reports as well if they are available on lexis.com. The path on lexis.com to find this source is: Legal/Legislation & Politics – U.S. and U.K./U.S. Congress/Legislative Histories.
