Annotated Code of Federal Regulations (May 7, 2012)
By Mary Reusch

Did you know that in the fall of 2011 we started adding annotations to our Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)? Customers have been asking for this content enhancement and we are happy to report that you can see those annotations now. Annotations will begin after the NOTES section under LexisNexis® Case Notes. The case notes cover case law from federal and highest state courts. Additional notes from secondary materials will also be added over the course of the next year.

It is important for you to be aware that our CFR is annotated because it may change how you search it. Segments will give you the searching precision you need to apply your search terms where you want them:

  • Should you wish to limit your search to the unannotated text, you can use the UNANNO segment.
  • If you wish to search just the annotation, you can use the CASE-NOTES segment
  • Don’t forget to double-check your format when you deliver. If you wish to deliver only the unannotated results, check the Document View before you hit Send. By clicking Document View and Custom you can check off precisely the sections you need to deliver.
