Lexis Advance™ - Searching News (April 24, 2012)
By Carol Barra
What do I love about News searching using Lexis Advance™?
If you haven’t tried using the Lexis Advance service for finding relevant news articles, I highly recommend it.
With the top U.S. and global publications, including the top newspapers, magazines and journals, and more than 600 sources from Factiva®, searching news using Lexis Advance has some advantages.
My favorite is that I can “filter” using the choices on the left. Using the “filters” makes it easy to look at just Legal News or General News. I can also “filter” by publication type, without having to remember what the appropriate segment is. I am always struggling with “pub-type” or “publication-type” as the correct segment to use at lexis.com®.
Using Lexis Advance, I also can “filter” by subject, industry, geography, company and people. Lexis Advance makes it easier to use the LexisNexis SmartIndexing Technology™ that has been added to news. The other “filter” that makes Lexis Advance so useful is the ability to quickly see the top publications and the number of results for each.
