Bureau of Justice Statistics

The BJS is the division of the U.S. Justice Department the compiles statistics on crime and the administration of criminal justice in the U.S. The BJS Web site posts "statistics about U.S. crime, victims, criminals, courts, police, jails and prisons" (http://bjs.ojp.usdoj.gov).
