Insurance Department Regulations

Sources for U.S. insurance department regulations include:

  1. The National Insurance Law Service (NILS), which collects insurance regulations of all the states. NILS is available as a multi-volume looseleaf and online via NILS INsource.
  2. The Insurance title/article of state's administrative code. For information on free and fee-based editions, see "State Regulations and Administrative Codes" and/or the entries for individual states.
  3. State Insurance Commissioners web sites - many post their regulations. You can link to these sites though an NAIC map.
  4. Westlaw (INSUR;STREGS) and Westlaw (MIN-ADC) each have a database covering all state insurance regulations.
