The New York Public Library (NYPL) has one of the best collections in the U.S. Though the library is physically located throughout New York City, the library's resources are accessible nationally through the combination of the Library's Web site and an excellent document delivery and research service called Premium Services, discussed below.
Web site: The main NYPL Web address is www.nypl.org. The site features an online catalog for the research and branch libraries. You can also get information on the library's hours, locations, telephone numbers, procedures, etc. for the research libraries and branch libraries.
Premium Services: Premium Services is the Library's document delivery and research service. The staff is generally friendly, intelligent, capable and prompt. Costs are reasonable. You can reach Premium Services by phone (212-592-7200) or email (express@nypl.org). Calls are initially fielded by document delivery personnel; involved requests are forwarded to researchers. To find out more, check out the Premium Services section of the Library's Web page.
