I am interested in working in a law firm eventually (currently a 3L) and practicing some form of business law though it seems the only places I can get experience while in school is at agencies such as Attorney General's office and Dept of Commerce. I know that the public sector is quite different from the private sector. Will law firms see these places on my resume and see them as pros or cons.

I can only speak from my own experience, which was that it didn''t hurt me at all. I worked for the Public School Employes'' Retirement System for a year while in law school to gain experience and to help pay for tuition, and I think that it was a plus on my resume to show that I had legal experience and was able to juggle school and a job and still graduate in the top 10 of my class. I landed the job that I wanted with a 150+ attorney firm in Pittsburgh, so I think it''s a pro to have this experience. Good luck!
