On April 3-4, 2008, Michael B Gerrard and Jonathan Martel of Arnold & Porter LLP, will participate in ALI-ABA’s program on Global Warming: Climate Change and the Law, which is co-sponsored by the Environmental Law Institute. Mr. Gerrard, who is one of three planning chairs, will deliver the introductory remarks and participate on the panel discussing climate change litigation. Mr. Martel will also be a contributor to the climate change litigation panel.
According to conference brochure, the program “is designed to provide both a primer on climate change and detailed discussions of how existing regulatory regimes and carbon trading markets function. Top federal and state officials and practitioners [will] provide scientific basics necessary to understand carbon control, equivalency and sequestration, and policy and factual background to understand the Kyoto Protocol’s design and enforcement.”
