SAN FRANCISCO — Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner LLP has announced that the firm has launched Climate Law Update (climatelawupdate.com), a daily news source on climate change and sustainable energy.
Written and reported by veteran environmental, energy and business journalists, together with some of the best legal minds practicing in the areas of climate change and sustainable energy, Climate Law Update aims to bring readers unique stories on legal, regulatory and legislative issues that are continuously changing the way business around the world operates.
The site’s lead writer and co-creator is Dennis Pfaff, a nationally respected writer and editor who has spent more than 25 years covering environmental and energy issues for the San Francisco Daily Journal, United Press International and the Detroit News. The site’s editor and co-creator is Kevin Livingston, a reporter and editor who has covered business, law and politics in the United States and Europe for 10 years.
The site will also draw on Thelen's 30 years of experience as a leader in sustainable energy issues, which includes handling some of the largest solar, wind and other renewable projects in the world. Thelen’s attorneys have expertise across the full range of critical legal service areas, including environmental, project development, regulatory, trading, finance, M&A, governmental affairs, intellectual property, land use and real estate.
“This is not your standard law blog,” Livingston said. “This is real objective news that is written and reported by experienced journalists. We want to be a must read for anyone interested in the most up-to-date information and analysis on issues relating to climate change, be it legislative, financial or regulatory.”
Thelen partner Mark Weitzel, chair of the firm’s Project and Asset Finance practice, said the site will be a valuable resource for clients and anyone else who wants to keep abreast of the constantly changing legal and business environment.
Thelen is an international law firm with about 600 attorneys.
