LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman has promoted Ann Frohman to director of the Nebraska Insurance Department, effective immediately. Ms. Frohman, 44, has been acting director since Director Tim Wagner died Oct. 9.
Governor Heineman stated in a department press release that “Ann is the right person to carry on Nebraska’s strong regulatory climate and competitive marketplace for insurers.”
Frohman has worked at the insurance department for more than 15 years. She was appointed deputy director in January 2004 and previously served as general counsel and staff attorney, as well as on committees of the National Assn. of Insurance Commissioners, according to the statement.
Ms. Frohman also worked as the state’s risk manager within the Nebraska Department of Administrative Services from 1997 until January 2000. She received her law degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
