RALEIGH, N.C. – (AP) Salix Pharmaceuticals Ltd. said Wednesday it is suing Novel Laboratories Inc. for patent infringement in a dispute over the bowel cleansing drug MoviPrep.
The drug is used prior to colonoscopy procedures. Indonesia-based Novel has asked the Food and Drug Administration to approve a generic version of the drug.
