About the Authors Brian OsiasPartner, McCarter & English, LLP
Brian Osias is a partner in the Insurance Coverage Practice Group in the Newark, New Jersey office of McCarter & English, LLP. He counsels clients on and litigates matters involving a wide variety of insurance coverage claims, including asbestos-related bodily injury, other product liability claims, environmental property damage, advertising injury, errors and omissions, employment practices liability, directors' and officers' liability, fiduciary liability, construction defects, and construction-related bodily injury. He also evaluates insurance policies and programs and advises corporate clients regarding the scope of their existing coverage. Clients on such matters have included General Electric, NVR/Ryan Homes, The Limited, Schering-Plough and Colgate-Palmolive.
In addition to insurance coverage, Mr. Osias litigates matters involving insurance broker disputes, various product liability/commercial matters, and construction defect claims. Clients on such matters have included American Standard, Rose Art Industries, Centex Homes, and JLT Re Solutions. He has handled all phases of litigation, up to and including trial. He regularly appears before state and federal courts in New Jersey and New York, and he also has arbitration and mediation experience. Mr. Osias has a B.A. with high honors from Rutgers College and his J.D. with honor from Rutgers University School of Law, where he served as Editor of the Law Review. After law school, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Barry L. Garber, U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida.
