Christina Eckes

Lecturer, University of Surrey

Christina Eckes is a lecturer at the University of Surrey, where she is also a member of the Surrey European Law Unit (SELU). Before joining the University of Surrey, she wrote her Ph.D. thesis on European sanctions against private individuals at King’s College London. In addition to writing her thesis, Ms. Eckes has been teaching European Union law and German Public law at King’s College London and other universities in the UK. Her research interests include, in particular, external relations of the European Union and judicial review of European Union law. In 2002, Ms. Eckes finished her law degree in Germany with the First State Examination, followed by a master’s degree in European Community Law at the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium. She has published several case commentaries and articles in the fields of European Union law and European Human Rights law.
 
Ms. Eckes is a contributor to Smit & Herzog on the Law of the European Union, a LexisNexis publication organized under the auspices of the Center for International Legal Studies (www.cils.org), an Austrian registered (ZVR No. 208672816) non-profit legal research and education organization.
