Patrick A. Cathcart is a partner in the firm of Adorno, Yoss, Alvarado & Smith in Los Angeles. He was a founding partner in the firm of Cathcart Collins LLP. For over 30 years, his practice has emphasized complex business trials and appeals, including multi-party insurance coverage litigation and professional liability matters. He is an editorial consultant for Matthew Bender® Practice Guide: California Trial and Post-Trial Civil Procedure. Mr. Cathcart was trial counsel for London market insurers in Fuller-Austin Insulation Co. v. Highlands Ins. Co. (2006) 135 Cal. App. 4th 958, 38 Cal. Rptr. 3d 716, and lead counsel for the successful appeal in Certain Underwriters at Lloyd's of London v. Superior Court (Powerine) (2001) 24 Cal. 4th 945, 103 Cal. Rptr. 2d 672, 16 P.3d 94. Mr. Cathcart is a Past President of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers (Los Angeles). Following law school, Mr. Cathcart clerked for United States District Judge Spencer Williams, in the Northern District of California. During law school, Mr. Cathcart was Editor-in-Chief of the Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly.
