Brad Marten, the founder and Managing Partner of Marten Law Group, is consistently ranked by his peers as one of the nation’s top environmental lawyers. During his 25 year career, Brad has represented both corporate and public clients in environmental matters touching on most of the major environmental laws. He has gained particular notoriety as a creative problem solver of matters involving real estate development, environmental enforcement including climate change law, corporate acquisitions, environmental insurance and criminal proceedings.

Brad has guided the expansion of Marten Law Group since its founding in 2002. During that time, the firm has more than doubled its staff and has added an office in Portland to better serve its clients. The firm is planning continued growth, particularly in the areas of climate change, water quality and quantity, property development and permitting while improving on traditional areas of environmental practice including waste cleanup and management, land use and enforcement.

Steven Jones, a partner with Marten Law Group, is the chair of the firm’s litigation department. He has handled complex environmental and land use litigation for both public and private clients for 15 years. Steve has particular expertise in litigation arising under CERCLA, the Clean Water Act, the Federal Torts Claim Act and representing clients in litigation involving climate change, solid waste and nuisance issues. He also has extensive experience litigating land use issues under both SEPA and Washington’s Growth Management Act. Steve has handled cases before all levels of the state and federal courts, along with administrative litigation before Washington’s Pollution Control Hearings Board, the Growth Management Hearings Boards and Washington’s Utilities and Transportation Commission.

Steve also writes and speaks frequently on environmental and land use issues and has contributed chapters to both the AWB Environmental Compliance Handbook and WSBA Real Property Deskbook. He is the editor of the ABA’s Superfund and NRD Litigation Committee Newsletter.

As a lawyer with the Marten Law Group, Dustin Till practices environmental and land use litigation with a special focus on climate change issues, permitting, and environmental review in the Pacific Northwest. Dustin represents clients in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska on a broad range of environmental matters, including permitting and energy infrastructure siting. Dustin shares his climate change expertise on behalf of Marten Law Group writing ongoing articles for LexisNexis Environmental Law and Climate Change Center.

Dustin has appeared before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, federal district court and the Washington State Court of Appeals.
