Fantastic Sams, a chain of hair salons, has filed suit against its competitor, Regis Corporation, accusing Regis of service mark infringement. The lawsuit, which was filed in the Western District of Washington, claims that Regis induced Fantastic Sams’ franchisees to breach their franchise agreements by ceasing to operate Fantastic Sams’ hair salons and selling the assets to Regis. Fantastic Sams alleges that Regis began operating the salons under the Hair Master brand, though without completely removing the Fantastic Sams’ service marks from the premises.
