Getting the Lowdown on the Meltdown -- Mealey’s Ongoing Subprime Conference
LexisNexis Insurance Law Center Staff
The Mealey’s Subprime Mortgage Litigation & Insurance Coverage Conference started this morning. I’m not actually attending this one, but I’ve been talking to the conference chairs and writing to the speakers, and they’ve agreed to come on to the Insurance Law Center to share their insight directly from the conference. Attendees will be able to converse with the people sitting on the dais that they can never get to see when sessions are over, and the rest of us who aren’t enjoying the practically perfect weather in D.C. can tune in to what we’re missing.
Conference co-chair Kevin M. LaCroix has contributed a blog post that describes and links to prior articles on subprime that originally appeared in his D&O Diary blog. Visitors to the insurance center already know LaCroix and his excellent work as we’ve been featuring the D&O Diary as one of the insurance center’s selected top blogs from the get go.
Conference speakers trying to juggle their regular responsibilities with conference obligations have also graciously agreed to come on to the site to share their experiences about presenting and whatever pearls of wisdom they picked up interacting with conference attendees.
We’re also reaching out to conference attendees. Hopefully when the sessions are complete and the cocktail parties are over, they will log on to the insurance law center and let us know how it went. I wouldn’t mind a tip on where to get a good mojito in Georgetown.
So now it’s up to the rest of you to add the final piece to this conference community we’re trying to put together here. Become a regular visitor to the new content box—they call them modules in computer speak—that we’ve labeled “Conference Center.” Check out what’s going on. Take a look at what’s coming up. Post a comment of your own. It’s the next best thing to being there.
