Dan D. Kohane is a senior partner in the Buffalo, New York law firm of Hurwitz & Fine, P.C. and an adjunct Professor of Insurance Law at the Buffalo Law School. Mr. Kohane provides insurance coverage counsel and practices through the State of New York. He received his B.A., magna cum laude, from State University of New York at New Paltz in 1975 and his J.D. from the Buffalo Law School in 1979. He lectures widely on insurance coverage issues through the United States, Canada and Europe and has often been retained as an expert witness on matters relating to insurance coverage. Immediate Past President and currently Board Chair of the highly-selective Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel, Mr. Kohane also serves on the Board of Directors of the DRI and the Lawyers for Civil Justice. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Courts of the Southern, Western and Northern Districts of New York. Mr. Kohane is the editor and publisher of Coverage Pointers, a bi-weekly electronic insurance newsletter and has recently completed a co-authoring a chapter which will be published in Appleman’s New Insurance Law Practice Guide.
