James W. Adams, Jr.

James W. Adams Jr. practices energy and real property transactional law and litigation in Houston, Texas. He is presently Of Counsel with Hoover Slovacek LLP. His extensive publications on energy, real property, business, evidence and other areas of law earned him a 2003 induction into SCRIBES, The American Society of Writers on Legal Subjects. He is the author of several books on real estate and oil, gas and other minerals. Several of his legal articles have been cited as significant articles by the American Bar Association. Adams has also edited numerous legal reference volumes, treatises, and journals. He has taught law as adjunct faculty for UCLA since 2000. Adams is the author of some of the leading treatises on real estate law (see, e.g., Title Opinions, Chapter 78A, TEXAS TRANSACTION GUIDE (Matthew Bender & Co., 1991), Curing Title Defects in the United States, Chapter 12, THE LANDMAN’S GUIDE (Matthew Bender & Co., 1988), Curing Title Defects, Chapter 78, TEXAS TRANSACTION GUIDE (Matthew Bender & Co., 1986). Adams is a graduate of the University of Houston Law Center (J.D.), and the University of Texas at Austin (B.S.).
