Michael Goodman is a Partner in the Washington, DC office of Hudson Cook, LLP. His practice includes electronic commerce and marketing issues, unfair and deceptive trade practices, advertising, and financial privacy law. Previously, he was a staff attorney in the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection for over five years. In that position, he coordinated the FTC’s rulemaking efforts under the CAN-SPAM Act and spoke to audiences nationwide regarding CAN-SPAM compliance and the FTC’s role in enforcing and interpreting the Act. Michael also worked extensively on amendments to the FTC’s Telemarketing Sales Rule, including creation of the National Do Not Call Registry. He also litigated a variety of FTC consumer protection cases targeting business opportunity fraud, telemarketing fraud, and deceptive marketing of Internet access services.
