Greenberg Traurig Lawyer Michael Wallander To Speak At ‘Green’ Symposium

MIAMI — Greenberg Traurig LLP has announced that attorney Michael Wallander will speak at a symposium led by visionaries in the fields of environmental law, community planning, natural capitalism and low carbon business practices.

The event, scheduled in Miami on Aug. 28, is presented by Climate Culture Inc., a sustainability consulting boutique founded last year to help people, companies and organizations cultivate the processes, approach, and culture for social and environmental innovation. Wallander is a corporate and securities attorney with experience in sustainability. A member of the firm’s Climate Change, Carbon Credits and Green Building and Sustainable Development groups, Wallander will present the legal and policy innovation needed to clear the way for sustainability.

Wallander is a frequent speaker at conferences on carbon markets. He has been at the forefront of efforts to integrate sustainability concepts within various types of market-based incentive regimes.

After finishing law school at the University of Pittsburgh, Wallander pursued an advanced LL.M. degree from Georgetown University Law Center, where the subject of his thesis was the treatment of corporate sustainability reporting under federal securities laws.

Wallander serves as vice chair for the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy and Resources Committee on Innovation, Management Systems and Trading. Wallander founded the Palm Beach chapter of Green Drinks, an international environmental networking and education nonprofit organization. He is a member of the Leaders Circle, United Way of Palm Beach County, the Florida Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Palm Beach County Bar Association.
