Peter Ligh Joins Sutherland’s New York Office
New York – Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP announces that Peter Ligh has joined the firm as an associate in its Litigation Practice Group and Energy and Environmental Practice Group, based in the New York office. Mr. Ligh is the second recent addition to Sutherland’s New York office, following Corporate Partner Earl Zimmerman.
 
 
“We are pleased to continue the growth of our New York office with the addition of another experienced lawyer,” said William H. Bradley, Partner-in-Charge of the firm’s New York office.
 
Mr. Ligh will focus his practice on complex commercial litigation and arbitration of disputes. He has experience in a broad range of matters, including antitrust, securities, energy, intellectual property and internal investigations.
 
“I am delighted to welcome Peter to Sutherland,” said Litigation Practice Group Co-Leader, Richard G. Murphy, Jr. “His broad range of litigation experience is a great addition to our firm, and his arrival adds significant depth to our litigation capabilities in New York.”
 
Prior to joining Sutherland, Mr. Ligh was an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. He also served as an intern for the Honorable Sonia Sotomayor of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and for the Honorable Naomi Reice Buchwald of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Mr. Ligh earned his juris doctor from Columbia Law School in 2001, where he served as Managing Editor of the Columbia Law Review and was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and a James Kent Scholar. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University in 1998.
