SCHAAN, Liechtenstein-- Glacier Insurance AG, has appointed Richard Etridge as Chief Executive Officer. Etridge takes his new position over from Robbie Klaus and will continue as a member of Glacier’s senior leadership team.

Glacier also announced the appointment of former AIG property manager Peter Hoffmann as Senior Underwriter, Property. In this role, Hoffmann will focus on expanding the property, construction and engineering business of Glacier Insurance from its branch office in Cologne, Germany.

Etridge has 20 years of experience in the insurance industry and has worked in various senior underwriting positions for major insurers such as GE Frankona, Faraday and Converium. He joined Glacier as a founder and has worked for the Glacier Group since its inception in December 2004.

Hoffmann began his career in engineering before moving in to the insurance industry, where he has almost 30 years of experience and has held a variety of leadership positions. His former employers include Gerling and Kölnische Rückversicherungs-AG. He joins Glacier Insurance after four years at AIG Europe, where he held the role of Deputy Profit Center Manager, Property/Energy.

Commenting on Etridge’s appointment, Robbie Klaus, Chief Executive Officer of the Glacier Group, stated “Richard has had a vital role in the Glacier Group’s evolution and he has been the driving force behind the successful launch and subsequent growth of Glacier Insurance. His management skills, practical underwriting experience and first-hand knowledge of our existing and target markets will serve him well as he leads Glacier Insurance in to the next stage of its global development.”
