KANSAS CITY, Mo -- Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP recently announced that insurance and litigation attorney Bruce E. Baty has joined the firm as a partner in its national Insurance Regulatory Practice. He comes to Sonnenschein from Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP, where he served as co-chair of the business litigation group. Moving to Sonnenschein with Baty is Jodi M. Hoss, an associate. Both will reside in the firm’s Kansas City, Mo., office.

Baty has extensive experience representing insurance companies, reinsurance companies, producers and third-party administrators in both property and casualty and life, accident and health insurance. His work for these clients includes company formation, mergers and acquisitions, and product development and compliance issues. He regularly represents clients before state departments of insurance and with respect to arbitration litigation of complex matters in a number of jurisdictions.
Baty is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School. He also received his undergraduate degree from Notre Dame. Hoss earned her law degree from Washburn University, where she served as editor-in-chief of the law review, and her undergraduate degree from Southern Connecticut University.
