Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Clifford A. Schulman Named 'Impact Legal Leader' By South Florida Business Leader Magazine
MIAMI – (Business Wire) Clifford A. Schulman, co-chair of the Environmental and Land Development Practice of the international law firm of Greenberg Traurig, LLP, has been selected as an "Impact Leader", in the legal category, by the South Florida Business Leader magazine. "Impact Leaders" are individuals who have contributed significantly to their industry, as well as active participants in civic or philanthropic groups in the community.
Schulman is Chairman of the Board of the Aventura Marketing Council (AMC) and serves on the Board of the "I Have a Dream" Foundation, as well as serving on the Board of the AMC Anchors Away Foundation. Both Greenberg Traurig, through its Philanthropic Foundation, and the Schulman family have donated boats to the Anchors Away program that provides specially designed sailboats for the use of mentally and physically challenged children in the Miami-Dade public school system.
Schulman and his late wife Mickie are Founders of Mt. Sinai Medical Center and sponsor a full tuition scholarship to the University of Florida Law School for a deserving law student. Schulman is also a member of the Alex de Tocqueville contribution level for the United Way of Miami-Dade County. Recently, the Schulman family dedicated a reservoir in the Negev desert in conjunction with the Jewish National Fund. In 2004, Schulman also received the Anti-Defamation League's "Torch of Freedom" award. Next month, the South Florida Shomrim Society is honoring him as "Person of the Year".
Additionally, Schulman serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami Law School's Masters Program. He was formerly a member of the executive council and chairman of the Environmental and Land Use Law Section of The Florida Bar.
