Philip A. Theodore Joins BioReliance Corp.

ROCKVILLE, Md. — BioReliance Corp. has announced that Philip A. Theodore has been named vice president, Compliance, Legal and Corporate Development.

BioReliance Corp. is a contract services company that provides biologics safety testing, toxicology, viral manufacturing and laboratory animal diagnostic services to the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries worldwide.

Theodore will be responsible for several core areas, including all legal activities within the company, corporate compliance functions and corporate development focused on opportunities to enhance business and growth through external collaboration and acquisitions. Based in the company’s headquarters in Rockville, he will report to David A. Dodd, president, CEO and board chairman, and will serve on the company’s operating committee.

Theodore’s career spans more than 30 years in the legal representation of public and private companies, corporate governance and compliance, and mergers and acquisitions as a partner with King & Spalding LLP, an international law firm where he was a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions practice group, and as the general counsel of several public companies. He also served as vice president and general counsel of Serologicals Corp. from 2004 until the company was sold in 2006.

Theodore earned his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and received his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where he was editor-in-chief of the University of Cincinnati Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif.

BioReliance Corp. provides contract services to the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries, offering more than 1,000 tests or services related to biologics safety testing, in vitro and in vivo toxicology, viral manufacturing, Good Manufacturing Practice manufacturing, pre-clinical testing and lab animal health diagnostics.
