ATLANTA — Several lawyers from an Atlanta-based litigation firm have joined Thompson Hine’s Product Liability Litigation group, complementing the firm’s existing national pharmaceutical and medical device litigation work, as well as other product liability and life sciences work.
Z. Ileana Martinez and Seth Litman joined Thompson Hine’s Atlanta office as partners and Leslie J. Suson as senior attorney. All were formerly with the litigation firm Alembik, Fine & Callner P.A.
Martinez focuses her practice on product liability litigation, including litigation for pharmaceutical and medical device companies. She has litigated cases involving products such as diet drugs, latex gloves, medical ventilators, antidepressants, thrombolitic agents, anti-hypertensives, surgical lasers, antihistamines and eye care products, among others.
Martinez also handles cases involving insurance defense, professional malpractice, premises liability and commercial and business litigation. She has served as national, regional and local counsel for product manufacturers and distributors involved in multidistrict litigation and has extensive experience with mass torts, class actions and complex litigation. She received her J.D. from the University of Miami Law School and her B.S. from Florida International University. Martinez is a member of the state bars of Georgia, Connecticut and Florida.
Litman focuses his practice on product liability and general liability defense, commercial litigation and insurance defense. His experience includes representing drug and medical device manufacturers in mass torts and multidistrict litigation. He has represented such products as diet drugs, latex gloves, statin medications, anti-bleeding medications, contact lenses and anti-nausea medications. Litman received his J.D. from Western New England College School of Law and his B.A. from Washington and Jefferson College. He is a member of the state bar of Georgia.
Suson focuses her practice on product liability, commercial and business matters, insurance coverage and defense, and tort litigation. She received her J.D. from the Loyola University of Chicago Law School and her B.S. from Loyola University of Chicago. She is a member of the state bars of Georgia and Illinois.
