Thompson Hine Atlanta Office Adds Intellectual Property Practice
ATLANTA -- Thompson Hine LLP has added an intellectual property practice to its Atlanta office. The group's efforts in Atlanta will be led by Beverly Lyman, Ph.D., a partner in the firm's Intellectual Property and Life Sciences practice groups.

Thompson Hine's Intellectual Property group offers wide-ranging experience in procuring, exploiting and protecting all forms of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets, in the United States and abroad.

"Beverly brings a wealth of experience in the intellectual property field to the Atlanta market," says Walt Linscott, partner-in-charge of the Atlanta office. "Her additional involvement in our Life Sciences practice makes her a natural fit for our Atlanta office. Beverly's extensive background, including years as an academic, provides an exceptional resource to businesses in the area."

Lyman focuses her practice on chemical, medical and life sciences patent evaluation, enforcement, transactions and prosecution, as well as handling trademark, trade secret and copyright matters. She is a registered patent attorney and a former faculty member at the medical campus of the University of Tennessee. Lyman holds an appointment as adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she has developed and teaches Licensing Intellectual Property. She also lectures on biotechnology patent prosecution for the Patent Resources Group (PRG). As an academic, she has authored numerous scientific publications, including chapters in clinical texts and a biochemistry study guide.
