Deeia Beck Appointed by Governor Perry as Public Counsel for the Texas Office of Public Insurance Counsel
AUSTIN, TX - Governor Rick Perry has named Deeia Beck of Forth Worth Public Counsel for the Office of Public Insurance Counsel for a term to expire February 1, 2009. The office represents the interest of insurance consumers in regulatory matters relating to insurance rates, rules and forms. She fills the vacancy left by Rod Bordelon, who was appointed Commissioner of the Texas Division of Workers' Compensation.
Beck is an administrative law judge for the Texas Department of Insurance Workers’ Compensation Division. She is a life fellow of the
Texas and Tarrant County Bar foundations, and a member of the State Bar of Texas, Tarrant County Women’s Bar Association and Workers’ Compensation Section of the State Bar of Texas. She is also a past volunteer for Meals on Wheels and chair of the Tarrant County Bar Association’s
